Hastelloy C-22 is a nickel-based alloy with good corrosion resistance. The material as an electro-galvanized conductive roll external cladding material, its welding and weld region of the corrosion resistance of the problem has become a key factor affecting the working life of the conductive roll.
Hastelloy C-22 conductive roller operation process failure of the welded joints were observed and analyzed, the analysis results show that: the weld for the filler wire TIG weld, welded without heat treatment, and the bottom of the weld seam there is not welded through the region; through the fracture SEM, XRD, and EDAX analysis, reveals that the conductive roll cracking and failure of the cause of stress corrosion cracking; based on the study of the failure of the mechanism.
The above results provide a reference for the laser welding of Hastelloy C-22. Hastelloy C-22 base material, filler wire TIG welding seam, laser welding seam, and laser welding after heat treatment with different parameters of the weld for metallographic analysis and chemical composition analysis, observed their organizational changes, and mechanical properties, electrode potential, polarization curves, chemical corrosion and other tests, the test results show that, in the appropriate conditions of the process parameters, the weld resistance to stress corrosion ability ranked as follows Heat-treated laser weld>Welded laser weld>Wire-filled TIG weld.
At the same time, the corrosion mechanism in the weld region of Hastelloy C-22 was investigated to determine the appropriate post-weld solid solution treatment parameters. Application of the results of this paper, the use of laser welding, school round, post-weld heat treatment, hot sets and other manufacturing processes such as trial production of Hastelloy C-22 conductive rollers, in production practice to prove that it has excellent corrosion resistance, the product is in good operating condition.
